The B.A. (Hons) Accounting and Finance (English) program aims to develop within students a body of essential knowledge, understanding and skills which will enable them to begin careers in accountant and finance. It aims to develop in students a critical appreciation of the roles undertaken by accountants in the modern business and financial world. This program will lay the foundation for future and professional development and/or post graduate study. Level 4 seeks to provide students with a broad awareness of the fundamental concepts and methods of accountancy and finance and other subjects of which graduates in this area should have some knowledge. Level 5 and 6 courses are designed to develop the knowledge of these concepts and methods in the key areas of accounting and finance and corporate law.

Applicants should obtain a Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent certified by the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Bahrain with an average of no less than 60% or equivalent. In some programmes, the applicants admitted from non-scientific secondary school fields should pass remedial courses. All applicants admitted to the University should take a compulsory placement test - determined by the University - to determine their English language level.

There are a number of undergraduate courses available at ASU:

 

Prospective undergraduate students are required to provide:

  • Original Certificate & Transcript of secondary school
  • Equivalency of non – Bahraini general secondary school certificate or private school’s certificate
  • A valid CPR copy
  • A valid passport copy
  • Health fitness certificate from one the centers approved by the Ministry of Health
  • 3 personal photos

 

Tuition fees at undergraduate level are the same for local and international students. Tuition is charged by credit hour which is 92.700 BD on average.

 Students usually need an average of 135 credits to graduate. However, programs hosted by London South Bank the average credit hour is 180 BD and the average credits needed to graduate is 150 Credits.

  • Two recommendation letters (one from a faculty/staff member from the university where the applicant has graduated
  • Experience letter (no less than one year’s experience in a relevant professional field)

 

The average tuition per credit hour for postgraduate student at ASU is 144.200 BD and the average credits needed to graduate is 36 across most of the programs. 

 The university has established a student fund which supports the students who are facing financial constrains by paying a part of their fees.
