Aston Doctor of Medicine (MD) is a research degree and students will be assessed by thesis and viva voce. The MD is a 2 year full-time (4 years part-time) programme aimed at persons in clinical practice. Applicants must hold a MBBS or BDS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery or Bachelor of Dental Surgery) degree or equivalent, be registered with the General Medical Council or General Dental Council, and have at least three years of clinical or scientific postgraduate experience. An oversea applicant must hold a relevant qualification, have the requisite experience, and fulfill the minimum English Language requirements, and should identify an area of medicine/science in which she/he wishes to undertake research and contact one of Aston research staff as a potential supervisor.
