This course studies a crucial field in the evolution of information and communication devices and students will receive high-quality training, specializing in photonic integration for communication, sensing and switching. Students will be trained to become capable of designing, realizing and assessing innovative integrated devices based on photonic technologies. As well as being of academic importance, the programme is an interdisciplinary, multinational initiative to train telecommunication and electrical engineers to investigate the adoption of Photonic Integrated Circuits (PIC) as the central element in the evolution of information and communication devices.
