The four-year Bachelor of Advanced Science (Honours) is a new postgraduate degree for both school leavers and students currently completing a Bachelor of Science.

Current Bachelor of Science students can transfer into the Bachelor of Advanced Science (Honours) at any time if they have a B+ average or higher. High achieving school leavers can enter directly into the degree.

You can choose from nine specialisations: Applied Conservation, Biomedical Science, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Food Science, Geospatial Science, Marine Science, Microbiology or Molecular Genetics.

To specialise in one of the areas listed, you need to complete the courses listed for this specialisation.

You complete either the postgraduate Research Project (60 points) that provides you with skills in scientific research and in drafting a course in a format suitable for a scientific journal publication, or the Dissertation (45 points).

You also take additional electives each year to bring the total number of points per year up to 120.
