BA Welsh History and Archaeology

On this course, students will study both subjects in equal portions to gain a Joint Honours Degree. Studying history will also help students develop practical skills valued by employers, such as the ability to collect and analyse data and to construct a clear argument. The past has many dimensions and there are many routes to it. Archaeology, which deals with material evidence, artefacts, monuments and buildings, is one avenue, while history, traditionally derived from written sources, is another. They are complementary and both are relevant to the past - together they help to guide students through the maze of evidence available to arrive at an understanding of the past.
