Advanced Computing Technologies (MSc)

Birkbeck’s MSc Advanced Computing Technologies is designed to advance one’s knowledge of advanced computing technologies, data science and data analytics. This specialised programme will provide students with the skills to analyse problems in the evaluation and application of technologies, and in research into, and development of, new technologies. The programme focuses on areas of expertise and research specialisation within the Department of Computer Science and Information Systems, and covers state-of-the-art techniques in, for example, the management and analysis of 'big data', software development of information systems in cloud, mobile and web-based architectures, and computational methods for intelligent information management and analysis. The MSc consists of eight taught modules, chosen from a range of specialist subjects, and a substantial project. Part-time students take four taught modules in each of the two years.
