Public Health is the study and application of preventing disease and promoting health at the individual, community and population levels. This course involves completing an industry placement as well as a global learning experience with a Laureate partner institution. If you’re interested in learning how you can prevent illness and develop programs and practices that promote better health in your community then this is the right course for you. Students will  also learn to critically evaluate national health care systems, standards, and legislation paying particular attention to underlying ethical principles and the impact of the public health profession on their establishment.

For local students:

(1) Applicants must have completed an Australian Year 12 Senior Secondary School Certificate or have attained an approved international equivalent.

(2) If Year 12 has not been completed, applicants with an equivalent Australian Year 11 and at least a Certificate IV qualification or a partially completed university degree may be considered.

(3) Students must be 17 years and 9 months or older by the course start date.

(4) All applicants must provide original certified copies of any academic and professional qualifications (including the original language and translated document, if applicable).


Special Entry Requirements

(1) broadly relevant work experience (documented e.g. CV), demonstrating a reasonable prospect of success; OR

(2) formal, informal or non-formal study, completed or partially completed, demonstrating a reasonable prospect of success; OR

(3) written submission to demonstrate reasonable prospect of success.


Applying for the Adelaide Campus

If you are applying to study the (Bachelor of Applied Public Health/ Bachelor of Business/ Bachelor of Business (Sport)/Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Media Design) at our Adelaide campus, you’ll need to complete a SATAC application. This is not required for online or postgraduate students.
