This general course will develop your understanding of key economic aspects and tools with emphasis on the relationship between theory and real-world examples. During your final year you can choose specialist modules (e.g. labour, industrial or behavioural economics), depending on your interests. Our Economics degree is flexible and you’ll have a range of career prospects such as an economics analyst or a professional forecaster. Your studies will include a module on econometrics to help you to develop the data modelling skills using computer programmes – a skill highly valued by finance and investment employers. If you decide to study professional accountancy after you graduate, our degrees offer some exemptions to ACCA and CIMA papers. As part of your studies, you also get training and access to industry analytical tools including SAS, Eviews, Bloomberg, Reuters and STATA.
