It is a multidisciplinary B.S. degree spanning the boundaries between the sciences and the arts. DA&S students benefit from an education in both the artistic and scientific aspects of digital graphic arts. The program prepares students for career opportunities in a wide range of fields - such as working with movie and video game companies, educational groups (Web-based delivery of exciting educational materials), computational science research (scientific visualization) and graphics for virtual reality applications. This new multidisciplinary program is centered primarily in mathematics, computer science and technical communications. It provides an education in both the artistic and scientific aspects of digital graphic arts. The program provides a natural Clarkson-flavored expansion into the fine arts arena while maintaining the strong scientific and technical profile. The program also addresses a growing career area in fields as diverse as entertainment (movies and computer/video games), education (Web-based delivery of exciting educational materials), computational science (scientific visualization), graphics for virtual reality applications, etc. Students take advantage of programs in digital art, math, computer science and communication & media. The program’s objective is to combine artistic and scientific skills and interests to develop creative talent with a strong technical foundation.

Clarkson University is an internationally ranked research university located in Potsdam, New York in the US. Approximately 4,300 undergraduate and graduate students are enrolled here across over 50 rigorous academic programs of study. Teaching is split across the School of Arts & Sciences, School of Business, Institute for a Sustainable Environment, Wallace H. Coulter School of Engineering and the Clarkson School.



The school is named after Thomas S. Clarkson, a local entrepreneur who died accidentally in a nearby sandstone quarry, risking his own life in an attempt to save a worker. The Clarkson family were important benefactors to the area and Clarkson University was founded in 1896 by the sisters of Thomas, originally called the Thomas S. Clarkson Memorial School of Technology.



In addition to its reputation for great career outcomes, innovative solutions to real-world and theoretical problems at the nexus of science, engineering, technology and business, the university is also well-known for the performance of its women’s and men’s hockey teams.
