This course provides advanced, research-based studies in psychology for students who have successfully completed the Bachelor of Arts (Psychology), or an equivalent accredited three-year degree in Psychology. The following course-specific admission requirements are mandatory and must be satisfied by all applicants. These requirements are in addition to or supersede the minimum requirements outlined within the Academic admission requirements band section below. Students will need to graduate to be eligible to register with the Psychology Board of Australia. All applicants are required to have a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) degree with a Weighted Course Average (WAM) of 70 per cent or higher, with equivalents considered, and have at least a Credit average in second and third year units, as well as a Credit average in the majority of Psychology units. Performance in second and third year Psychology units may also be taken into consideration if numerous high-quality applications are received. Students should also have demonstrated aptitude for and commitment to research.

All applicants must meet the academic admission requirements for this course. The indicative or guaranteed ATAR is as published (where applicable) or academic admission requirements may be satisfied through completion of one of the following:

  • Bachelor degree in a cognate discipline; or
  • Where accepted, equivalent prior learning, including at least five years relevant professional experience.
