Essex’s MA Management Economics course will critically examining the decisions of individuals, the strategies of firms, and the policies of governments to understand and challenge the standard paradigms of economics. On this course, students will build a thorough understanding of the key areas of economics, oriented towards issues of business strategy and market structure. This course is suitable for students who want to specialise in management economics, their first degree isn’t in economics, or their previous economics training doesn’t suit Essex’s MSc courses. Essex’s recent Master’s level Economics graduates have gone on to work for a range of high-profile organisations like the Bank of England and the International Monetary Fund. Many of Essex's researchers also provide consultancy services to central banks and government agencies, helping students to develop research for today's society as well as informing their teaching for the future.
