The Master of Music program at EUC explores advanced concepts in music education including curriculum theory and design, psychology, teaching strategies and technology in the music classroom. SPECIFIC ADMISSION CRITERIA:

A first degree or equivalent in Music.

Application for admission to the Music Pedagogy concentration may also be submitted by candidates with a Bachelor Degree in other areas rather than Music (e. , Education, Preschool/Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Sociology, etc. ). These candidates are required to demonstrate their musical background and training through a portfolio (i. e. , awards, distinctions, music diplomas, teaching experience, certifications of attendance in conferences, seminars, concerts, recordings, videos or other qualifications related to music teaching and learning).

Application for admission to the Composition concentration should be accompanied by a portfolio of works.

Evidence of English language proficiency (this applies for all applicants; either they apply for the program offered in Greek or English): Any of the following credentials is accepted as a testimonial of English language proficiency:

  • School-leaving certificate of a recognized six-year secondary education school where the principal language of instruction is English;
  • A first degree or equivalent of a recognized tertiary education institution where the principal language of instruction is English;
  • International examinations in English Language with a certification for "Very Good Knowledge" of English at level B2-C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), like IGCSE or G. C. S. E. (or G. C. E. )-«O-Level» with at least «C», Proficiency (Cambridge/Michigan) IELTS with 6. 5 at least, TOEFL with 550 (paper-based) or 213 (computer-based) or 79 (internet-based) at least, or any other equivalent examination;
  • The EUC English Placement Test (EPT) prior to their admission to the Programme and having passed the ENL102 level.

Evidence of Greek language proficiency (this applies only for those applicants who apply for the program offered in Greek): Any of the following credentials is accepted as a testimonial of Greek language proficiency:

  • School-leaving certificate (Απολυτήριο) of a recognized six-year secondary education school, provided that the principal language of instruction is Greek;
  • C (or higher) at a Modern Greek GCE A-level;
  • Certificate of success at the Ministry of Education and Culture examination for Greek language proficiency.

Candidates will be invited to an interview/audition, if/when the Department deems necessary.

The Department might ask for additional documents and also adjust the special criteria.

Founded in 1961, European University Cyprus (EUC) was granted university status in 2007. It is the first Greek university to be awarded the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) Label by the European Commission, one of only 40 European institutions with this distinction. EUC has a student enrolment of 10,000+. European University Cyprus has a strong commitment to community service and environmental sustainability..

EUC is located in Nicosia, Cyprus’ capital and largest city. The university is situated near the center of political, economic and cultural activity in the country. EUC has recently expanded and opened a new campus, consists of modern facilities, well-equipped laboratories, amphitheatre lecture halls, student apartments and entertainment venues.

EUC’s Center for Applied Research was established in 1991 as an independent, non-governmental institution, providing market research, training, and consultancy services to public and private sector clients. The Center also emphasizes the importance of accurate, ethical data collection, sharing the findings of CAR projects as widely as possible. EUC’s faculty collaborates with scientists from some of world’s best universities including Harvard, Oxford, Imperial College London, Cambridge, University College London, King’s College London, Queen Mary,  and the University of London. EUC’s researchers coordinate or participate in a number of prestigious projects funded by the European Commission and the Research Promotion Foundation in Cyprus.

All Master’s and PhD Programs have been approved by the Accreditation Committee of Private Universities of the Ministry of Education and Culture and are recognized worldwide. European University Cyprus has six schools: the School of Arts and Education Sciences, the School of Business Administration, the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, the School of Sciences, the School of Medicine and the School of Law.
