The Bachelor of Science (Honours) (Geography) degree offers a broad foundation in geography, offering a powerful mix of interdisciplinary skills to solve a range of real-world problems. Students will investigate the dynamic relationships between humans, their cultures and environments, and cover a range of contemporary issues including social and environmental justice, and the efficient, equitable and sustainable use of resources. Students will develop research techniques including fieldwork, survey design, statistical analysis, spatial data analysis (including geographic information systems), and other forms of qualitative and quantitative analysis. They will learn to retrieve, synthesise and communicate information, as well as managing data and drawing on different sources of knowledge. On this degree, students will undertake a negotiated project based on your interests, such as a literature study, field or laboratory investigation, modelling or data analysis study, or an industry or simulated work integrated learning assignment.
