In this specialised degree, students will learn about the causes of crime and society's response through the justice system to address them. The first year will cover trends in crime in Australia and overseas. Students will study courses about police, courts and criminal law, forensic psychology and homicide. The second and third years offers students the flexibility to specialise with elective courses in areas such as policing, working with offenders and victims, and analysing and preventing crimes. Students will also have opportunities to study abroad and receive credit for their degree. In the final year, student may choose to complete a professional placement and gain practical justice-related experience. Students in this program may be required to undergo the Working with Children Check and be issued with a Blue Card before they undertake work experience or placements in professional settings.
