Overview

HELSINKI EDUCATION AND RESEARCH AREA The Helsinki metropolitan region is home to nearly 1.5 million residents and a great place to study, work and play. The region is proud to house several top class Finnish universities and universities of applied science offering a wide range of degree programmes in English. These institutions of higher education not only educate their students but provide extensive support in questions concerning living and working in Finland. The Helsinki region is not only a great place to study, it is also a vibrant, culturally diverse and fun place to live. From visiting the many museums of the city to enjoying the vast natural beauty of the surrounding region to having a night out on the town at some of our cafes, restaurants and nightclubs, there is always something to do in Helsinki. While the unique geographical location of Helsinki makes it an exciting and exotic place to live, it is a major traffic hub and the gateway to Asia, Scandinavia and Russia. Helsinki works! We are proud to say that research has shown the public transportation system in the Helsinki region to be amongst the best in the world. Getting around town is a snap....
