HELSINKI EDUCATION AND RESEARCH AREAThe Helsinki metropolitan region is home to nearly 1.5 million residents and a great place to study, work and play. The region is proud to house several top class Finnish universities and universities of applied science offering a wide range of degree programmes in English. These institutions of higher education not only educate their students but provide extensive support in questions concerning living and working in Finland. The Helsinki region is not only a great place to study, it is also a vibrant, culturally diverse and fun place to live. From visiting the many museums of the city to enjoying the vast natural beauty of the surrounding region to having a night out on the town at some of our cafes, restaurants and nightclubs, there is always something to do in Helsinki. While the unique geographical location of Helsinki makes it an exciting and exotic place to live, it is a major traffic hub and the gateway to Asia, Scandinavia and Russia.Helsinki works!�We are proud to say that research has shown the public transportation system in the Helsinki region to be amongst the best in the world. Getting around town is a snap.�As one of the most technologically advanced and tech-savvy countries in the world, it is no surprise that free WLAN connections are available in many places throughout the city, including the Central Railway Station, the Market Square and in the downtown shopping area.�Helsinki was named the 6th best place in the world to live in the Quality of Life study.Helsinki rocks!�Over 130 musical events are held each weekend in the Helsinki region.
