The Undergraduate Program of Urban and Regional Planning (UPURP) is designed to prepare graduates with basic knowledge, skills and attitudes required as planners, emphasizing on their ability to think rationally and strategically with a comprehensive manner, to develop the best alternative solutions to problems, which are technically justifiable, socially acceptable, and morally responsible. The Urban and Regional Planning Undergraduate Program uses studio-based learning methods that emphasize comprehensive, rational and critical understanding in an academic environment that supports competency development. Students complete a minimum of 144 credits (216 ECTS) organized over 8 semesters (4 years) to produce professional planners. Program Objectives are (1) Having the ability to become a spatial planner and development manager of cities and regions; (2) Having the capability of applying analytical planning technique for solving a problem structurally in a clear, cohesive, and interesting presentation; (3) Having the ability to pursue and succeed in postgraduate studies; (3) Having the ability to lead a working group and show initiative in the planning profession and other professional activities. The Urban and Regional Planning Undergraduate Program is accredited with excellence by BAN PT (National Accreditation Body for University) and international accreditation from ASIIN (Akkreditierungsagentur für Studiengänge der Ingenieurwissenschaften, der Informatik, der Naturwissenschaften und der Mathematik), an international accreditation agency originating from Germany for the disciplines of engineering, mathematics and science, agriculture, biology). Graduates with a bachelor's degree in Urban and Regional Planning are qualified to work as planners for local and regional councils, government agencies, planning consultants, property developers, research institutes and non-governmental organizations.
