The specialty program in Nutrition and Functional Foods (ENAF) offers an alternative for professional improvement and access to postgraduate studies. Its objective is to train specialists in the lines of development and use of functional foods, the study of the bioavailability of nutrients; and aspects of food and nutrition for professional practice based on scientific evidence, capable of contributing to the solution of nutritional problems in the country.
Admission to the program takes place in August of each year. The admission process begins with the publication of the announcement (November), from which, the reception of documents is carried out, where the applicant must meet the requirements established there and two months before the start of classes, he presents to an interview with the Admission Commission, so that a month later the result of your application will be published.
The program is completed in two full-time semesters, 3 compulsory Learning Units and 11 electives are offered; in addition to two seminars and complementary activities, to cover at least 46 credits. The student participates in the design of their program of activities, within a flexible curricular structure according to their interests, with the participation of their Academic Advisor (Thesis Director).
The academic body of the program is made up of specialists and doctors in science, who have experience in the generation and application of knowledge in this area; as well as in the training of human resources at the higher and postgraduate level. They have academic training in different specialties of nutrition, technology and food sciences; which allows them to approach the field of study and the two lines of research that make up the program with a multidisciplinary approach. These professors also participate in tutoring and thesis supervision, sometimes in collaboration with invited experts.
Due to its quality, the program is part of the National Quality Postgraduate Program (PNPC) of the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACYT), so students can access scholarships granted by this institution.
