The Specialist Community Public Health Visiting/School Nursing BSc course is tailored to offer the professional qualification for qualified nurses who wish to gain entry to part-three of the National Midwifery Council (NMC) nursing register as a health visitor or school nurse. There are two pathways of study offered. Initially, students will undertake modules in Leadership in Public Health, Evidence-Based Practice, Child Protection and Specialist Practice. For those aiming to follow the Health Visitor pathway, then students will also undertake an additional nurse prescribing module. Alternatively, the School Nurse pathway the course follows a more clinically focused option. These choices are designed to equip students with the evidence to demonstrate eligibility to register for specialist practitioner status with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
