The Master of Community Development offers an understanding of the practice of community development, the broad range of settings in which it is carried out, social research methods and social policy forces that impact on practice. As part of this course, candidates will undertake an original, substantive supervised investigation of a community development issue. This course focuses on the involvement of people in government, neighbourhood groups, social action, overseas aid, schools, local councils, sustainability, Indigenous groups, social services, the arts, business and tourism and how this affects the new way of doing things in community development.
