In this course students will learn how to develop technology to extract metals and commodities from raw materials from the earth using sustainable methods. Students will explore the design, commissioning and operation of engineering processes and plants as well as learning how to harvest mineral resources in safe and responsible ways using the latest chemical and metallurgical processes. As part of the studies, students may work in mineral processing and metallurgical plants to develop an understanding of the resources industry and markets through direct links with industry. Graduates are eligible to become a professional member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.
