Whether you’re looking for a course with professional accreditation, or one that offers the chance to study abroad or undertake a commercial work placement, we can help you choose  the right degree for you. 

Most of our degrees are three or four years in length, depending on the subject you choose. Each degree offers you a stimulating curriculum and a supportive teaching and learning environment. 

We offer degrees in four subject areas

Work placement or study abroad

Experience different cultures, grow in confidence, make friendships that will last a lifetime, and develop impressive credentials for your CV with our range of study and work abroad experiences. The majority of our undergraduate courses now offer you a work placement or study abroad year.

Every year, hundreds of Newcastle students make the most of our exciting opportunities to work or study abroad, between your second and third year of study:

• in Europe or further a field with a study abroad year

• further afield with our Non-EU Exchange Programme

• in the UK or overseas with a 12-month work placement gaining valuable industry experience

• overseas with a four to six week summer internship

Your choice of courses

At Newcastle University Business School our Master’s courses offer you a strong focus on employability, teaching informed by our latest research and academic quality assured by our professional accreditations and recognition. 

We offer both conversion and specialist Master’s degrees, most of which are one-year courses. Each course offers you a stimulating curriculum and a strong focus on practical application of theory. 

Employers and practitioners play an active role in our degrees with guest speaker sessions, insight visits, case studies, and project-based dissertations. We’ll help you to understand business, prepare you for its constantly evolving landscape, and equip you to drive those changes.

Admissions

We welcome applications from students from a wide variety of backgrounds who can demonstrate motivation, ability and potential to study with us at postgraduate level. Apply online to our courses and track your application progress in real-time.


Entry requirements

Academic requirements

• For entry onto our Masters’ courses you should hold a 2:1 honours degree or international equivalent. We have experience in evaluating qualifications from many different countries and welcome applications from students with equivalent European and international qualifications .

• Some of our Masters’ courses have specific subject requirements; please see individual course web pages for further information

English language requirements

• You will need a good level of written and spoken English to study at Newcastle and should be able to demonstrate your proficiency. 

To study on our courses, you will need to meet our Band 6 English language requirements. 

• If your first language is not English you can demonstrate your English language ability with one of the tests below or another alternative we accept.

• IELTS 6.5 overall with at least 6.0 in all sub-skills

• If you have lower English language scores, you may be accepted onto a pre-sessional English course.
