Engineering with Foundation Year BEng Honours

With over 185 undergraduate degrees across 39 subject areas to choose from, it’s easy to find your perfect course at Newcastle University. 

Most of our undergraduate courses are three, four, or five years in length, depending on the subject you choose. You can also broaden your focus – choosing one of our well-established Joint Honours degrees or blending two or three of over 20 courses with our Combined Honours programme.

Newcastle University offers more than 300 postgraduate degrees across taught and research study options. 

Our taught Masters’ degrees are normally 12 months in length if studied full-time, with flexible and part-time study options also available. Learning is fast-paced and thought-provoking, and we encourage you to apply your own ideas and experience to your studies. 

Depending on the subject, teaching is delivered via a range of lectures, seminars, group projects, lab-based sessions, technical skills development, and practical experiments.  At Newcastle, we also offer a wide range of research degrees at doctoral level (PhDs, Integrated PhD and professional doctorates) and Master's level (Mlitt, MPhil and MRes).  As a globally respected university, our research ‘power’ has grown by 65% since 2014 (REF 2021), and our researchers are pushing the boundaries of knowledge. We offer an Alumni Progression Discount to eligible UK alumni from disadvantaged backgrounds when they continue their studies with us. An Alumni Progression Scholarship towards living costs is available for eligible UK and international alumni.
