Mental Health nurses need to be able to demonstrate competence in the fundamentals of nursing care across people’s lifespan, with a particular focus on meeting the needs of people experiencing mental problems and their families and carers. This programme integrates Simulation Based Education (SBE). The SBE environment will look like a real clinic or hospital and allows students to role play in clinical situations. Placements can include working within community health care teams (supported by a district nurse, health visitor or school nurse) or working in acute settings within local Trusts.
