The Doctorate in History is a research-oriented study program of the highest academic level. The central objective is to train researchers who can work as teachers or experts in projects that require the generation of new knowledge in public and private sectors.
The duration of the doctorate will be six academic semesters during which the student will work individually with his advisor. The research must be part of one of the lines of research offered by the program. In addition, the doctoral student must attend the Permanent Seminar that the program will organize and publicly present their progress to the college of advisors.
The purpose of the program is to develop and support a thesis that is an original contribution to historical knowledge and/or that modifies the interpretation of a topic previously worked on by other historians.
