Since Peru is a privileged country in mineral resources, its mining industry has great importance thanks to its contribution to the national economy. At PUCP, you will be provided with a solid foundation of technical and scientific knowledge, as well as a social and ethical education committed to the environment, ecology and society. You will also learn the art and science of extraction processes of metallic and nonmetallic resources from the earth’s crust. In addition, you will be trained in mine operations and design processes to know the activities of mineral exploration and processing. You will know processes related to mine safety and environmental protection, during and after their production periods, as well as, legal, entrepreneurial and managerial aspects related to this industry.

The Pontifical Catholic University of Peru is the oldest private university in Peru, founded in 1917 by the priest Jorge Dintilhac. It reaches its centenary, occupying the first place in the national sphere and one of the first positions in Latin America.
