Specialization in Pediatric Intensive Care

The applicant to enter the Specialty in Pediatrics, must have the following profile: Professionals with a title of specialists in Pediatrics registered in the SENESCYT, who have special motivations towards learning the medical-surgical techniques and strategies that seek to protect and preserve health in pediatric patients. With a personal sensitivity of their own that allows us to recognize the great differences that exist between sick adults and sick children.
In addition, the selection and admission requirements that appear in the Rules of the Higher Education Council for the Execution of the Merit and Opposition Contest to access the Medical Specialties Programs (RPC-SO-013-N°082-2012), applicants must:

• Enjoy physical and mental health.
• Possess the characteristics that identify the medical professional: human, critical, self-critical, ethical and moral.
• Have the ability to learn, to respond to the demands of society and to face the challenges of modernity.
• Work full time and remain fully dedicated to fulfilling the program.
• Identify with society, with users, with the institution, with work and with the learning process.
