Applies scientific, technological, biotechnological, agro-industrial engineering, administration and marketing foundations in the transformation of the main raw materials and natural resources from the agricultural, livestock, forestry, aquaculture, fishing and by-products sectors, in solving problems in the sector regional and global business. Promotes technical-scientific research and designs new products, agro-industrial applications based on the sustainable use of the main raw materials of agricultural origin and their by-products. Promotes and manages localized agri-food system projects that establish links with the community and in the public and private spheres, integrating the largest number of actors in the territory at the local, regional or national level, with international projection, complying with the National Development Plan. It rescues and revalues ​​ancestral knowledge of an agro-industrial nature in order to validate it, adjust it and give it prospective industrial use. Designs and manages the implementation of integrated quality systems, environmental responsibility, industrial safety, and their corresponding programs in agro-industrial companies, based on national and international regulations.
