Historically, the Nursing programme of the Santiago de Guayaquil Catholic University has been subject to the supply and demand market of the country and its participation in the solution of problems related to human health care that afflict Ecuador. The University is then, the space in which the human talent that the country needs must be trained, in this case, Graduates in Nursing, with technical, human and ethical competence for comprehensive care, as part of a multidisciplinary team and intersectoral, with decision-making power and leadership.


The health needs and demands of the population, the reorganization of health services, scientific and technological advances require Nursing a new style of practice, which must be guaranteed by Care Management, which is related to the principles of comprehensive training, proposed in the transformation of the National Health System and in relation to the Organic Law of Higher Education (LOES) and in the very conceptualization that the Nursing profession requires in scientific training in order to influence its actions in the Health-Illness process, opting for fundamental values ​​such as health care, the promotion of individual and collective well-being, in short, "Care for human health".


The training of Nursing professionals at the Catholic University of Santiago de Guayaquil should also seek to respond to aspects of the profession that are still relevant for their development and that, among others, the following are identified:


  • Low leadership potential and professional positioning.
  • Traditional pedagogical models.
  • Curricula focused on pathological aspects.


Likewise, a professional is proposed who, with humanistic training, is capable of providing comprehensive care to the person, the family and the community, in managing their health and disease situation.


Care in which respect for the person, comprehension and understanding of individual and collective differences in the concept and management of life and health prevail.

  • Color copy of citizenship card
  • Color copy of voting certificate (updated)
  • Three passport size photos (5 x 5 white background)
  • Notarized copy of the bachelor's degree or the bachelor's degree certificate and endorsed
  • Psychological test and / or scheduled appointment with payment rate.
  • Original certificate of conduct from the college where you graduated as a bachelor.
For foreigners:
  • Valid study visa and / or residence for foreigners
