As one of Australia's leading universities, with a total enrolment of approximately 50,000 students, QUT has approximately 11,000 postgraduate students, including approximately 2,800 research students. We emphasise real-world relevant courses and research and our graduates enjoy employment outcomes well above the national average for Australian universities.

QUT has strong links with international researchers and research institutions and our researchers have access to world-class facilities and infrastructure. We create our course content in collaboration with top industry professionals that includes opportunities to gain professional experience through workplace projects in Australia and overseas to ensure you graduate with a qualification that meets the current and future needs of your profession.

 As a multi-campus institution, QUT accommodates an internationally and nationally awarded Science and Engineering Centre which incorporates one of the world’s largest and most advanced digital interactive learning and display spaces (The Cube).  2016 saw a major expansion of the Creative Industries Precinct while the new Education Precinct opened in 2019.

 The university has two major thematically focused research institutes:  The Institute for Future Environments  and the Institute of Health and Biomedical Innovation.  Additionally, QUT leads seven nationally endorsed research and training centres including the ARC Industrial Transformation Training Centre in Additive Biomanufacturing and the ARC Centre of Excellence in Robotic Vision.

QUT researchers are given the professional support and world-class infrastructure they need to progress their work in world class facilities.

Our research students can also enjoy flexible study options. You can study on or off campus, add coursework units to complement your research interests, and design a research program around your individual needs.
