The PhD program at Temple University’s Fox School of Business trains outstanding scholars who advance the state of their fields through research and teaching. The Fox School prepares its PhD graduates to lead field research and pursue life-long academic careers at prestigious research universities around the world. The Ph.D. in Business Administration program, with a concentration in International Business Administration, prepares individuals for advanced research and scholarship. The primary emphasis of the program is to prepare future faculty members for successful academic careers, although many of our alumni are employed in government, industry, and consulting. The PhD concentration in International Business (IB) prepares students for successful scholarly careers at research universities across the globe. The IB faculty has been ranked No. 4 worldwide in international business research productivity by the Asia Pacific Journal of Management. Additionally, the Fox School of Business numbers among the 31 universities nationwide to receive a grant from the U.S. Department of Education for our Center for International Business and Education Research (CIBER). The IB department is also home to the Journal of International Management, edited by Professor Masaaki Kotabe, and International Finance Review, an annual book series edited by Professor J. Jay Choi. The IB doctoral concentration emphasizes interdisciplinary research, and students are required to pursue a functional business minor in Strategy, Marketing or Finance. Graduates of the IB program have enjoyed great success on the academic market, finding initial appointments at institutions such as Rutgers University, the University of Hawaii and Beijing University. Accreditation: All Fox School of Business and Management graduate programs are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International). Job Prospects: The program is primarily dedicated to producing well-trained researchers who will work in academic positions.
