The Uman National University of Horticulture (UNUH) is a higher education institution that has established and unshakable traditions over 180 years of operation: an innovative approach and priority of education quality, a high level of patriotism and employer orientation, constant movement forward in a circle of like-minded people who value experience and willingness to work for the benefit of the development of the Motherland.
The achievement of these concepts is facilitated by the consistently high professionalism of the university staff, focus on academic freedom and student centricity, scientific approach and practical implementation of the results obtained.
The university provides training for:
- Doctors of Philosophy - in 11 specialities;
- Bachelors - in 21 specialities;
- Masters - in 24 specialities.
The university has 12 scientific schools, three specialised academic councils for defending doctoral and candidate dissertations, and publishes a professional journal in economic and agricultural disciplines, the Collection of Scientific Papers of Uman National University of Agriculture (category B), the Bulletin of Uman National University of Agriculture (category B), collections of scientific papers of young scientists, student research papers, and conference proceedings.
Students and teachers have access to a library with modern information facilities, 220 reading rooms, and a book depository with more than 260,000 volumes of educational, scientific, and fiction literature.
To improve the efficiency of research activities and promote the commercialisation of developments, the university has 23 educational and research laboratories.
The university's international activities are carried out under 35 cooperation agreements with foreign educational institutions, scholarship programmes, and grants. Every year, teachers and students undergo internships at leading universities and research centres in Europe.
The main coordination centre for educational work at the university is the Centre for Culture and Student Education, whose specialists develop and implement new directions for the development and improvement of extracurricular activities of students. Seven creative teams of the Centre were awarded the honorary title of ‘People's’ for their high artistic skill and professionalism.
The university students are active participants in sports competitions of various levels every year, invariably becoming prize-winners and winners.
Thanks to the hard work of the team, the University has achieved significant results, for which it has been awarded many awards.
