The Catholic University of Santiago de Guayaquil, founded on May 17, 1962, began its first academic period with the Faculties of Jurisprudence, Philosophy and Physical and Mathematical Sciences.


In 1963, the School of Economics was created, as an academic unit attached to the Faculty of Jurisprudence, which later the then governing body of the Catholic University of Santiago de Guayaquil, which in a session of March 18, 1965 approved the creation of the Faculty of Economics.


On January 12, 1966, when Dr. Teodoro Arízaga Vega was Dean, the Business Administration specialization was created. Subsequently, on January 16, 1978, the Economic Research Center attached to the Faculty of Economic Sciences, Administration and Auditing was created.


The increasingly important role that Economics and Business Administration have played in the development of countries has given rise to a high growth rate of students in universities, particularly in faculties oriented to the training of professionals in these careers., Worldwide. To be a student at the Catholic University of Santiago de Guayaquil, the applicant must comply with and approve the admission process as stated in the "Second Annex" of the Institutional Pedagogical Model, which is in harmony with the National Leveling and Admission System SNNA and that includes:

  • Approval of the admission course or exoneration exam.
  • Application for registration in kind valued.
  • Notarized copy of the bachelor's degree or the endorsed degree certificate.
  • Color copy of the citizenship card.
  • Psychological Test obtained at the UCSG Faculty of Philosophy.

National or foreign applicants who have obtained their bachelor's degree abroad

  • Approval of the admission course or exoneration exam.
  • Application for registration in kind valued.
  • Notarized copy of the bachelor's degree abroad must be presented duly recognized by the Ministry of Public Education of Ecuador, with its corresponding endorsement.
  • Valid study and / or residence visa for foreigners.
  • Color copy of the citizenship card.
  • Psychological Test obtained at the UCSG Faculty of Philosophy.
  • Three passport-size color photos

Professional applicants or have taken some courses at other higher education institutions

  • Approval of the admission course or exoneration exam.
