The Catholic University of Santiago de Guayaquil, founded on May 17, 1962, began its first academic period with the Faculties of Jurisprudence, Philosophy and Physical and Mathematical Sciences.
In 1963, the School of Economics was created, as an academic unit attached to the Faculty of Jurisprudence, which later the then governing body of the Catholic University of Santiago de Guayaquil, which in a session of March 18, 1965 approved the creation of the Faculty of Economics.
On January 12, 1966, with Dr. Teodoro Arízaga Vega as Dean, the Business Administration specialization was created. Subsequently, on January 16, 1978, the Economic Research Center attached to the Faculty of Economic Sciences, Administration and Auditing was created.
The increasingly important role that Economics and Business Administration have played in the development of countries has given rise to a high growth rate of students in universities, particularly in faculties oriented to the training of professionals in these careers., Worldwide.
