The Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics :

  1. It classifies food groups according to their composition, nutritional value and intake, determining the nutritional characteristics of foods, their relationship with human well-being and the commitment to the socioeconomic reality of the country.
  2. Assesses the nutritional status of individuals or the population, throughout the different stages of their life cycle, applying standardized techniques and methods (Nutritional Care Process).
  3. It intervenes in the nutritional and dietary care to healthy and / or sick individuals or population in an integral way in the life cycles, carrying out the dietary prescription and various food-nutritional interventions, with the purpose of achieving the objectives proposed in each case.
  4. Integrates multi and interdisciplinary teams in health and / or food in the clinical, public and private areas; including the administration of food services, acting with responsibility and human sensitivity, applying universal moral and ethical principles, and is capable of leading by showing executive capacity in business management, as well as in the design, execution and evaluation of projects in the field of nutritional health.
  5. It trains in educational activities related to the field of action and health professionals, individuals and the community.
  6. Designs and implements health, safety and food sovereignty programs, policies for the prevention, promotion and improvement of the quality of life of the individual and / or population, at an inter-institutional, intersectoral and intercultural level, based on the needs of the population, the aspect biopsychosocial and with adherence to the policies of the National Plan for Good Living, showing respect for ancestral knowledge.
