The Doctoral program in Behavioural Science: orientation in Behavior Analysis takes place over a period of 6 semesters (24 months devoted to participation in seminars and the development of research and 12 more devoted exclusively to the development of research for the obtaining the degree). After this period, the General Postgraduate Regulations of the University of Guadalajara establishes a maximum ordinary period of 1 year to carry out the act of defense to obtain the degree of DOCTOR IN BEHAVIORAL SCIENCE.
The program is structured along 3 training axes that extend throughout the 4 semesters with clearly differentiated objectives. Before breaking down the academic objectives established for each of the semesters in the program, the general purpose of these axes is mentioned:

  • SUPERVISED RESEARCH: Within the framework of this axis, research is carried out aimed at obtaining the degree. The development of the thesis is fundamentally supported by the participation in the research meetings of the laboratory led by the student's tutor, as well as the constant presentation of the research advances both in meetings of the affiliation laboratory and in other activities. open to all members of the programs taught at the CEIC (Master's and Doctorate in Behavioral Science: orientation in Behavior Analysis.
  • DIRECTED STUDY: The objective of this training axis is to provide the student with solid conceptual foundations, as well as teaching spaces, for the analysis of the major problems addressed by Behavior Analysis, assuming that the student already has solid theoretical knowledge resulting of their Master's studies in Behavioral Science: orientation in Behavior Analysis, or demonstrated in the knowledge exam developed during the admission process. In this way, monographic courses are proposed, as seminars, in which what, in the opinion of the NAB, are the great current conceptual problems in Behavior Analysis are analyzed. The objective of these seminars is to train our students in the ability to relate the results of their research to the discipline, as well as in its theoretical-philosophical analysis, in such a way that they have the ability to integrate their research with Behavior Analysis as a discipline.
  • PROSEMINARY: To bring our students closer to the knowledge generated by other laboratories of national and international prestige, hand in hand with those responsible for these laboratories with a double objective: 1) to know what and how they approach the process of generating knowledge and the results obtained in other laboratories and 2) create future links with those laboratories that promote both reciprocal research stays and the development of collaborative research.
