The countries considered world powers are those that have sustained their economy in the development of their resources and not in those that nature gave them. These resources, created by themselves, are the product of a model based on Science or scientific development. This framework allows them to identify and characterize the problem and, therefore, create the technology to solve inherent problems of their society and their time without dependence on others. However, the main attribute of working under this scientific framework allows them to glimpse, choose and plan their future.

This context must be planned and supported by governments, private initiative and universities, in order to obtain the required human and economic resources. In order for a country to achieve this development, multidisciplinary work is required in all areas, since current problems require a rapid, low-cost and long-term sustainable resolution.

This collaborative work (multi-inter and transdisciplinary) allows the integration of knowledge from various disciplines with the aim of solving increasingly complex problems. This conjunction of different areas has allowed an unimaginable growth in scientific production, from publications to patents, but its greatest achievement has been in the impact it has on society.

At present, scientific and technological production in Mexico continues to be scarce in both public and private institutions. The main factor behind this lag lies in the scant collaboration of working groups for the creation of knowledge and technology.
