The Master's Degree in Medical Microbiology is a postgraduate program aimed at research into easily and rapidly transmitted diseases caused by pathogenic agents. This program has the mission of training human resources with a solid academic base in the area of infectious-contagious diseases, considering human, animal and environmental health; with emphasis on cellular, molecular biology and genetics. Our vision is to maintain the best medical microbiology graduate system in the country in terms of its quality. This vision involves training Masters in Medical Microbiology with complex and critical thinking skills, which contribute to the generation of knowledge and technological development for the identification and solution of the health problems that our society faces.

The Master's program in Medical Microbiology is a school-based program with a focus on research with an estimated duration of 4 (four) school cycles. The modality for obtaining the degree is a research thesis.

The call is annual, published in the month of August to enter in the month of January of the following year.

Have a bachelor's degree or certification examination certificate and proof of completion of social service of the bachelor's degree in biomedical area, such as medicine, dentistry, chemistry, biology, veterinary medicine, biotechnological engineering, nutrition, among others that allow the development of medical microbiology and that are academically sufficient in the opinion of the Postgraduate Academic Board.
Have accredited with a minimum average of eighty with original certificate or document that is comparable, the previous studies as the case may be. For foreigners, if the qualification scale of the degree is not over 100, the letter of equivalence of the general average will be necessary.
Proof of reading-comprehension of the English language with level BI of the common European framework, or its equivalent or 70% of the minimum TOEFL scale.
Pass the national postgraduate entrance exam (EXANI-III) with a minimum of 1,000 points.
Present a psychometric test applied by the CUCS psychological evaluation center.
Pass an exam of basic concepts, for the area of health sciences.
Submit a letter of explanation of reasons, to pursue a master's degree in medical microbiology.
Submit a letter of commitment to dedicate full time to the program.
Interview by three members of the Academic Board.
The student must expose a topic of microbiology proposed by one of the professors of the academic nucleus, before an admission committee made up of professors from the Academic Board and external guest professors.
Approve the other requirements published in the respective call, among which, it is included that the applicant must attend and pass a propaedeutic course.
Foreign applicants must comply with all of the above, demonstrate command of the language and present the corresponding immigration authorization.
