Master in Rural Studies

The fundamental objective of the Master's Degree in Rural Studies is to train specialists in contemporary rural studies, who have a solid theoretical, conceptual and methodological basis for the study of the phenomena of transformation of rural environments, in the productive, social, cultural and political areas. capable of promoting and managing projects and actions for the benefit of rural territories and their inhabitants. The aim is to train professionals committed to respect for nature and the harmonious relationship between it and human beings, through the construction of projects that implement activities in accordance with this and in conjunction with social actors.
The Master's Degree in Rural Studies is aimed at professionals with a bachelor's degree in the areas of Social Sciences, Humanities, Economic-Administrative Sciences, Natural Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, or related disciplines, who seek to train as researchers in rural studies.
The Master's Degree in Rural Studies aims to study the phenomena of landscape transformation, the commercialization of land ownership, the changing relationship of human beings with nature, the use of technology, the complex relationships between countryside and city derived from human migrations and the advance in transportation and communication technologies, the social and economic polarization between the actors, the changes in collective identities, the search for new life options in rural spaces, as well as the various ways by which Actors seek to solve their daily problems individually or collectively.
Upon completion of the program, the Master in Rural Studies can work in government institutions, educational institutions, research centers, national and international organizations, non-governmental organizations, private companies, which have rural territories as a means of attention and development, societies that develop in them and the environment. He even has a wide field of action to work on his own.
Currently, the Master's Degree in Rural Studies has a valid registration with the National Postgraduate System (SNP) of the National Council of Humanities, Sciences and Technologies (CONAHCYT), which offers the possibility that students accepted to the Master's degree can opt for a scholarship.
 
Applicants who are accepted to the postgraduate program are not guaranteed access to a maintenance scholarship; the assignment will be subject to availability and the criteria established by CONAHCYT in the respective calls.
