The Master's Degree in Urban Mobility, Transportation and Territory (MMUTT) is within the National Postgraduate Register of the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACYT).
In a general approach to the problems of cities, increasingly accentuated in the issue of urban mobility and transportation, the need to carry out studies on their development, their creative possibilities, renewal of infrastructures, equipment, the materials and technical capabilities, as well as the methods and technologies on which they can be based in each of their variants.
The expansion and growth model of metropolitan areas in Mexico generates, among other conflicts, those directly related to the quality of life of the inhabitants: one of them is mobility and transportation. The urban phenomenon, with the complexity that characterizes it, establishes as a priority the issue of urban mobility and transportation, which is at the same time the object of various social, economic and environmental studies. Likewise, the complexity of the mobility and transportation of people and goods in cities, foreseen in the metropolitan urban scenarios of the 21st century, is a concern that concerns different areas, governmental, academic, business and social, which operate in amid the conflicts of an exponential growth of the vehicle fleet and the deficiencies of the public transportation service.
The study of urban development, mobility and sustainable transportation makes it possible to address multiple dynamics of transformation of urban-environmental spatial construction processes, while configuring a new role for the agents involved in public, private and industrial production. social of cities, within the urban-territorial planning in favor of sustainable development. The concern to train specialists in these topics then appears as key, with the premise of proposing new teaching contents in our university, in congruence with the various scenarios raised above.

  • Have a bachelor's degree or degree certificate from the degrees in: geography, architecture, urban planning, engineering, economics, sociology, environmental sciences. Applicants from other disciplines will be submitted for consideration by the program's Academic Board;
  • Accredit a minimum average of 80 with an original certificate or document that is comparable to previous studies*, as the case may be;
  • Submit proof of reading-comprehension of English (level B1 of the Common European Framework) and Spanish if the applicant is fluent in another language of origin;
  • Compulsory attendance at the Disciplinary Studies Seminar (preparatory);
  • Acceptance letter from the Academic Board, based on the means of evaluation provided for in the student admission process; Y
  • Statement of the reasons why the applicant wishes to attend the program;
  • Full-time dedication, as required by CONACyT of postgraduate courses integrated within the National Quality Postgraduate Program.
  • It will be an added criterion of favorable evaluation (not a requirement) that the candidate has graduated with the defense of a bachelor's thesis in his studies of origin. In this case, the candidate must include a copy of their bachelor's thesis in all their documentation.
  • Those additional ones that the call establishes.
  • Completion and release of the social service of the Bachelor's degree.
