The educational development process has come together in an educational system that serves different educational levels, and has undergone several reforms. These reforms, guided by international trends, have sought to train the individual to integrate into society as a productive entity. This approach is more clearly observed in the training programs of the Second Cycle and Higher, the result being the training of more competent people to act in an economy of service and manufacturing production, than for scientific development. This need, together with the vision expressed by the Dominican Government in the so-called Pact for Education, provides the opportunity to restart the training process with the specialization of middle and basic level teachers for the teaching of pure sciences, aware that this intervention has a positive influence on the society of the future. The Specialty in Education mention Mathematics and Physics, second cycle of the primary level, is linked to the new educational reform carried out by MINERD. Its purpose not only pursues a dimension of training and qualification, but also of economic productivity and self-development in the long term.
