This Master in Forensic Psychology and Psychosocial Intervention program is justified on the basis of three fundamental axes: first, the need to specialize professionals in the psychology of social intervention; second, the need for professionals who intervene in society to master legal regulations and third, the need for this program to be present in Dominican universities. Social psychosocial intervention programs, including legal regulations, aim to modify, prevent and/or control the behavior of people, groups and social institutions. More than enough reasons to explain the need to specialize psychologists in intervention in minors, family, community psychology, legal psychology, alternative conflict resolution, psychosocial research, development and evaluation of projects and programs, counseling, gender psychology, direction of project, among other issues that dictate to the participants the ability to provide a timely response to current social problems, in order to strengthen services and thereby improve people's quality of life.
