The overall objective of the Graduate Program in Economics at FEA-RP/USP (PPGE/USP-RP) is to qualify human resources for work in applied economics. This general objective breaks down into the following specific objectives:

  • Provide a conceptual basis in economics for professionals who wish to work in universities, companies and public and private administration bodies and who can benefit from the use of applied economics tools.
  • To prepare the student for the practice of research and economic analysis, particularly at the frontier of knowledge in Social Economy and Economic Development.
  • Promoting the exchange of students, professors and ideas with other teaching and research institutions in Brazil and abroad and with entities in the productive sector.

The program, which began its activities in 2004, has the support of development agencies (such as Capes and CNPq) for granting scholarships.
