The biologist is dedicated to the study of life at various levels and aspects to understand the origin, evolution, structure, functioning and reproduction of organisms, in addition to the relationships that these maintain with each other and with the external factors that make up the place where they live.

The course offers the student basic disciplines in the biological area such as botany, genetics, molecular biology, zoology of invertebrates and vertebrates and in the area of ​​exact sciences such as biochemistry, biophysics, statistics and applied mathematics, in addition to specific and applied courses in biotechnology, life management wild and agricultural biology.

It is also possible to choose to take the Licentiate degree (there is no specific entrance exam): Bachelor's degree students can enroll, at the same time, in disciplines to obtain the Licentiate degree, such as: Introduction to Education Studies, Politics and Organization of Brazilian Education, Educational Psychology, Didactics, Teaching Methodology in Biological Sciences.
