The mission of the Economic Sciences course at FEA/USP is to contribute to the formation of citizens with theoretical and practical knowledge of Economic Science, which will enable them to act, under the precepts of ethics, whether in the private sector or in the public sector, to the promotion of the economic and social development of our country. Under this mission are the following objectives:

  • Offer quality education through an active learning-teaching process;
  • Make available and discuss the fundamental areas of economic science that underlie the training of economists and introduce the student to the wide range of economic paradigms that exist today;
  • Enable the student to use the tools of quantitative analysis, developed at the frontier of knowledge;
  • Expose the student to historical and sociological methods of analysis, favoring critical reflection about the contemporary world and the situation in Brazil;
  • Involving the student in the study of the application of the theory and tools of the economist to practical issues of the national reality;
  • Develop the sense of ethics and responsibility of future economists.
