Environmental Engineering is aimed at sustainable economic development, respecting the limits of natural resources, through the development of new technologies for the prevention and control of environmental pollution.

It also contemplates the environmental planning of the territory, environmental licensing of polluting activities, monitoring and evaluation of the environmental quality of natural resources, environmental management system in productive activities, hygiene and environmental safety systems and urban sanitary engineering systems.

The proposed structure for the Environmental Engineering course aims at training professionals who have a strong foundation in Basic Sciences (mathematics, chemistry, physics and biology), allowing a solid foundation in Engineering Sciences and, more specifically, in Environmental Engineering Sciences.
