The Bachelor of Medical Physics course began its activities in 2000. This course is being offered at night, lasting 5 (five) years.

During the first half of the course (5 semesters) students will receive advanced knowledge of Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computing, Chemistry, Anatomy and Physiology, as well as interdisciplinary knowledge of Biophysics and Biochemistry. At this stage of the course, many of the disciplines are experimental in nature and others are divided into theoretical and experimental parts. The objective that is intended to be achieved, in this half of the course, is to train a student with solid knowledge of the exact sciences and basic knowledge of the biological sciences. The second half of the course is formed by a majority set of disciplines applied to health and biological sciences. Many of the experimental disciplines, in this phase of the course, will be carried out in facilities that work with these sciences, such as hospitals, health centers, diagnostic imaging centers, analysis laboratories, etc. In the last semesters of the course, the student is obliged to carry out an internship in centers accredited by our department, which develop work and research in health sciences, biological sciences, biomedical instrumentation and/or works that are within the objectives of the course.
