The bachelor's degree course in Medical Physics was formed based on a partnership between the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo (USP) and the Institute of Physics of USP, approved by the University Council in March 2021, and with a forecast to start first class in the school year in 2022.

The course will last five years, there will be 25 vacancies open for enrollment via FUVEST entrance exam or SISU selection and classes will be held at night on the Pinheiros and Cidade Universitária campuses, in the city of São Paulo. The curriculum structure will be divided into three major modules: the first comprising basic training in physics, mathematics, computing and biomedical sciences; next, biomedical applications; and, finally, practical internships in hospital settings. It has the support of the IFUSP and FMUSP structures, there are rooms for theoretical and practical classes, didactic and research laboratories, rooms with computers, multimedia environments, auditoriums and libraries with rich specialized collections.
