The FFCLRP Psychology course proposes training generalist psychologists and psychologists, with a strong foundation in basic, applied and research areas, capable of acting in different professional fields, in a creative and autonomous way, with contributions to the advancement of knowledge and engagement in socially relevant practices, committed to social transformation, in accordance with ethical precepts, maintaining a reflective attitude about the knowledge and practices produced by Psychology, as well as the reality that surrounds it.

The different Research Centers, Laboratories and/or Research Groups of the Department of Psychology are responsible for the development of research associated with teaching and university extension activities. These laboratories contemplate a great diversity of areas of Psychology and guarantee institutional exchange with groups of excellence from other universities and/or research centers in the country and abroad, which has contributed significantly to the training of the students of the course, creating a culture of continuing education and constant professional improvement.
