The learning outcomes of the oncology course are to provide students with the skill-sets required for oncology. Oncology is a field of activity that requires a multitude of skills not only in biology and medicine but also in engineering and human sciences. Since this discipline is intrinsically multidisciplinary by nature, there is a demand for a continuous flow of experts in the various fields of knowledge involved. The oncology study path therefore recruits students from two main sources: (i) health professionals (mainly medical oncology interns upon completing their internship, as well as pharmacists and veterinarians) (ii) science students with a degree in BS. Moreover, this is a nationally and internationally renowned course, which therefore also recruits directly at M2 level: mainly doctors and scientists who have studied at other universities, and, on occasion, students from another academic fields, such as engineering for example.
