The course trains graduates with a solid basic preparation in theoretical linguistics, Italian language and literature, with a proficiency profile strongly characterized in an intercultural sense. The educational paths can be oriented towards different linguistic-cultural areas: French, English, Portuguese and Brazilian, Spanish, German, Arabic, Chinese and Russian language and literature, with related courses dedicated to the respective cultural histories and the use of main IT tools.


Graduates in Modern Languages ​​and Cultures are trained for various professional activities:


  • socio-linguistic-cultural operator in multi-ethnic and multicultural contexts, for businesses and for the public administration;
  • linguistic operator involved in cultural tourism, cultural, social and outreach services; linguistic operator in relations between company and customers in an international context;


and to start a specialization in the following professions:


  • translator and interpreter; expert in cultural mediation; expert in multilingual communication and information management;
  • expert in the promotion of goods and services in the international field.


Graduates in Modern Languages ​​and Cultures can specialize in linguistic and cultural mediation in an international context, perfecting their language training to start careers in international and national organizations operating abroad. The degree gives access - without debt - to the master's degree course in Languages ​​and Cultures for International Communication (LM-37) and to all master's degree training courses expressly dedicated to linguistic and cultural mediation.
